To mark the 175th anniversary of the school, the University of Notre Dame will hold a walk of more than 300 miles this year to replicate the pilgrimage the school’s founders undertook in 1842.

The project is seen as a milestone in Notre Dame's growth as a research university and in the growth of South Bend's high-tech economy.

The legislation comes after ESPN filed a lawsuit claiming Notre Dame Security Police violated public records laws.
