The Friday Pitch-In
June 19, 2020
Former Evansville Mayor Jonathon Weinzapfel is the Democratic nominee for Indiana Attorney General. But the question remains...will he face Curtis Hill, Todd Rokita, or neither in November? And Indiana is facing a more-than $3 billion budget shortfall due to the pandemic, but the governor says despite that, K-12 education will not see any cuts. We get updates on these headlines and more.
We also talk to a Notre Dame psychology professor about a new study that looked at whether engaging in conservation practices like recycling and energy reduction, or communing more often with nature, increased feelings of connection to the natural world.
And a new young adult novel set in Indiana grapples with many of the issues around race and sexuality that are being talked about across the country right now. We talk to the book’s author, who grew up in central Indiana.
