Challenge Is On For Commuters

Hoosiers are being urged to mix up their commute during National Rideshare Month.  The Commuter Challenge gets started this week and participants could win prizes for trying an alternative transportation option.

The program, which is organized by Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority, has a goal of reducing air pollution and traffic congestion in Central Indiana.  People are asked to find another way to work, like car-pooling, bus, bike or walking.

Every week prizes will be awarded with grand prize winners receiving an iPad or a $500 gift card.  It’s free to sign up and participate by logging trips at commuterconnect.us/challenge.  Riders can find people to carpool or vanpool with at the site.
