The Indiana Senate passed a bill Thursday that would make it illegal to trespass on agricultural property.
Senate Bill 101, authored by Sen. Travis Holdman, R-Markle, would create a level 6 felony for an individual who knowingly or intentionally commits an act that could “disrupt the operation and its trade secrets.”
Agricultural operators would have to conspicuously post notices that listed prohibited behaviors.
The bill passed 45-5 and now moves to the House for consideration.
