Absentee voting numbers are up significantly in Marion County.  Voters had until noon Monday to cast an early vote in the May primary.

Russell Hollis, deputy director in the Marion County Clerk’s office, says voters are interested, engaged and want to make their voices heard.

“Overall we have been close to double the amount of turnout for in-person early voting from 2014 and 2010,” Hollis says.

Election Day for the primary is Tuesday. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
