Indiana manufacturers are now eligible for on-site technical assistance and training from the Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM).
W.A.S.T.E. Stream Mapping aims to help companies reduce costs, improve production flow and worker safety, reduce inventory and improve environmental performance.
Program manager Kelly Weger said W.A.S.T.E. Stream Mapping will look different for each manufacturer.
"Every single company finds completely different, unique projects through this training," Weger said. "The W.A.S.T.E. Stream mapping really helps companies to dig deeper and find more off the beaten path kind of projects."
MEP will select 15 Indiana manufacturers for the program. Those chosen will also receive in-depth training and opportunities to apply for seed funding.
