Trombonist Slide Hampton is one of the greatest living legends of Indiana Avenue. This April marks the 89th anniversary of his birth. Slide Hampton has performed with some of the biggest names of jazz music, including Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Pharoah Sanders, Art Blakey, and Dexter Gordon.
