Alaska Gold Preview

Season 2012 Episode 16 | 30s

The Bristol Bay region of southwest Alaska is home to the last great wild Sockeye salmon fishery in the world. It’s also home to enormous mineral deposits estimated to be worth over $300 billion. In “Alaska Gold,” airing July 24, FRONTLINE probes the battle between those whose livelihood depends on the extraordinary fishing and foreign mining companies.
