4th Congressional District

A House Republican will not be running again for his central Indiana seat in the 2026 elections, instead setting his sights on a higher office in Congress.

Incumbent Republican Congressman Jim Baird and Democratic candidate Roger Day are running for Indiana's 4th U.S. House District, which includes Benton, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Hendricks, Howard Jasper, Montgomery, Morgan, Newton, Putnam, Tippecanoe, Warren, and White counties. Baird was first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2020.

The procedure for such a move is fairly simple, with some very recent examples.

Indiana's 4th House district covers 16 counties in western, central and northern Indiana including Kokomo and Lafayette.

A crowded pool of Republican candidates for the 4th district congressional seat met in Lafayette Saturday to debate issues ranging from gun control to federal spending and online security.

Disciplinary actions against Morales are part of a resume that also includes embellishments, a spotty work history and murky business dealings.
