Black artists

The Indianapolis group GANGGANG says it has generated over $13 million in revenue and invested nearly $8 million into the creative economy over the past four years.

Black artists will debut their work in Indianapolis at the 4th annual BUTTER: A Fine Art Fair.

As the community comes together to celebrate Black History Month, the Recorder is shedding a light on a few of the Black visual artists who paved the way for events like Meet the Artists, Art & Soul and BUTTER.

The cultural development group GANGGANG, which launched the event in 2021, expects more than 8,000 people to attend this year’s Butter. The group's goal is to sell or loan all of the artwork and give all of the proceeds back to the artists.
