Work on Broad Ripple Avenue between Winthrop and Guilford avenues has finished a few weeks early.

The construction stretches from east of the Winthrop Avenue intersection to Guilford Avenue. Local north/south traffic is able to cross Broad Ripple Avenue via Guilford Avenue. East/west traffic is being detoured to Kessler Boulevard to reduce traffic in Broad Ripple Village.

The $6.73 million project will fund infrastructure improvements, such as new storm pipes, manholes and curb inlets, from College to Primrose avenues and include a new "River Walk" that will connect Broad Ripple Park to the Monon Trail.

Streets that have been closed for months, to expand outside restaurant seating, will open again after Labor Day.
