Federal dollars aim to integrate mental health, substance use treatment into primary care in Indiana

Indiana has been awarded roughly $3.6 million to help support expanded access to mental health and substance abuse services in clinical settings.

Carrie Foote, who leads HIV Modernization Movement-Indiana, said HIV criminalization laws lead to stigma that acts as a barrier to testing and care. And that gets in the way of preventing new transmissions and optimizing wellness for people living with HIV.

The Damien Center – Indiana’s oldest and largest HIV service organization – hosted its first advocacy summit Wednesday to develop strategies for the upcoming legislative session.
