A federal judge ruled a Brown County man and Chicago woman are likely to succeed in their First Amendment lawsuit alleging the federal government pressured Apple and Facebook to remove platforms tracking U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity.

The legislation classifies doxxing as a threat if the intent is to cause bodily harm to a person, damage to their property, or to encourage others to commit a crime against them.

The legislation would criminalize the tactic of releasing personally identifiable information with the intent to cause someone fear or harm — or encourage another person to do so.
