Elizabeth Krutz, previously principal of LaPorte Middle School, will lead the Riverside neighborhood school following the expected approval by the school board later this month.

The 7-year-old student described several incidents when the teacher allowed or encouraged other children to hit him, according to an affidavit.

IPS Superintendent Aleesia Johnson said the district “fell short” for not informing parents that a teacher was under investigation by state officials.
