Manchester Apartments is set to partially reopen, less than a year after a fire damaged a lot of the building. The north tower of the complex will house 23 local veterans. Each one-bedroom unit will come equipped with furniture, kitchenware and other supplies for veterans.

Construction of the Manchester Apartment complex began in late 2024 after a fire heavily damaged the property and displaced nearly 50 veterans.

A transitional housing property for homeless veterans recently caught fire in Indianapolis, and it could take months for those veterans to find permanent housing.

An annual census of people experiencing homelessness in Marion County on a single night in January, the 2024 Point-in-Time Count, shows veterans experiencing homelessness decreased by 7% from 2023.
