Indiana Governor's Council for People with Disabilities

People with disabilities can have a difficult time finding a dentist who can accommodate them if their wheelchair doesn’t fit or cognitive disabilities make it difficult for patients to remain still. Indiana University will construct a dental clinic to address this gap.

Proceeds from a farmers market this week will support a local organization that transports youth with disabilities from low-income households.

Indiana has made progress on a large majority of recommendations to better support the roughly 100,000 Hoosiers with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Keynote speaker Lawrence Carter-Long is from Indiana and gave a speech that encouraged empowerment.
