Thrifty Threads helps supply survivors of domestic violence and abuse with clothing and home goods.

The Julian Center, known as a resource for battered women and their children, launched a new service to address teen dating violence.

The money will benefit two existing initiatives run by the city and its nonprofit partners at the Julian Shelter and the Domestic Violence Network.

The Center for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention - or CHIP - estimates 3000 people became homeless last year in Marion County because of domestic violence.
