Decatur Township residents says a new developer is trying to bypass the city council to bring in a data center.

The name of the tech company behind a proposal to build a massive data center in Franklin Township has been hidden from the public. But new documents obtained by WFYI name the company behind the proposal.

The proposal now heads to the full Metropolitan Development Commission, which will vote on the controversial rezoning request.

Non-disclosure agreements could influence what is being disclosed to the public about a proposed data center that would rezone hundreds of acres in Franklin Township.

A downtown development project is moving quickly through the city approval process. A new proposal provides more than $15 million in city support for the $300 million development.

Property owners who provide short-term rentals and advertise on sites including Airbnb and Vrbo would need to register and pay a one time fee of $150 dollars under the new ordinance.
