Purdue University announced it is sponsoring a mission to locate Amelia Earhart’s lost aircraft.

On Wednesday night, 67 people were killed when a plane collided with an army helicopter near Washington, D.C. An Indiana University alumna was aboard the plane during the collision.

Police say a single-engine plane traveling from Iowa to Indiana has crashed in a central Indiana cornfield. Madison County Sheriff’s Capt. Darwin Dwiggins says there were no survivors.
