Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai‘i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky has expanded its capacity to offer gender-affirming care services in Indiana. The organization said it hopes to meet the need of transgender Hoosiers seeking care.

The abortion providers who brought the challenge argue one of the laws few exceptions is unconstitutionally narrow and could harm pregnant Hoosiers.

A group of abortion care providers is suing the state in a challenge against its near-total abortion ban. A three-day bench trial started Wednesday in Monroe County.

Abortion providers said a critical exception in Indiana's near-total abortion ban is vague and unclear which puts patient lives at risk. The first day of testimony in the latest legal challenge to the law largely focused on concerns around the health or life exception.

The organization has seen a 40 percent increase in vasectomies performed at clinics in states where the services were already offered.

Indiana abortion care providers are trying to stop the states near-total abortion ban from taking effect.
