Several lawmakers want the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration to remove a policy from the Healthy Indiana Plan, or HIP, that has been linked to loss of coverage for Medicaid members. The calls to reevaluate POWER account contributions come as the state continues to appeal a federal ruling against the policy.

A recent federal ruling stopped Indiana's plan to bring back monthly payments for Medicaid members on the Healthy Indiana Plan, or HIP. Advocates say people will be less likely to lose Medicaid coverage as a result.

Medicaid members on certain plans will be required to pay premiums and POWER account contributions starting July 1. The return will impact Children's Health Insurance Program, MED works and the Healthy Indiana Plan members.
