Heavy construction is underway on I-465, much of which will take place this summer.

The ramp from 56th Street to northbound Interstate 465 on the northeast side of Indianapolis will be closed for two years.

Starting Sept. 12, 10th Street will be closed between College and Highland avenues. The closure is expected to last into late September. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be detoured to 16th Street during the closure.

The construction stretches from east of the Winthrop Avenue intersection to Guilford Avenue. Local north/south traffic is able to cross Broad Ripple Avenue via Guilford Avenue. East/west traffic is being detoured to Kessler Boulevard to reduce traffic in Broad Ripple Village.

The completed 2-way traffic change along Fort Wayne Avenue will slow traffic and add to a new transportation corridor.

A new $11 million effort to overhaul Emerson Avenue on the city’s southeast side is underway.

The Indiana Department of Transportation said 10th Street will close on Monday, July 18, between Bellefontaine Street on the west and Dorman Street/Massachusetts Avenue on the east. It's expected to reopen in September.
