Soldiers and Sailors Monument

A Civil War museum has reopened in the Indiana War Memorial after having to move from its previous site at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Indianapolis because water leaks endangered the collection.

Here & Now's Alex Ashlock visits the Solder and Sailors Monument in Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument's artifacts, including a cannon, were moved a few blocks north to the Indiana War Memorial.

The 115-year-old limestone tower and its grounds were named to the National Historic Landmarks list by Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewel.
