A grr-ific time was had at Dia Del Nino at Be My Neighbor Day!
More than a thousand children and adults filled the West Perry branch of the Indianapolis Public Library with energy on April 25 for a day of playful learning with Daniel Tiger and friends.
Families met Daniel Tiger, visited a trolley, listened to bilingual stories, created art, wrote thank you notes to community helpers, and delighted in imaginative and sensory play.
Children chose from hands-on activity stations that focused on early learning skills, encouraging them to expolore, create, and imagine. 123 Andrés also joined the fun and hosted two bilingual concerts and invited children and parents to dance and sing along. Every child received a Daniel Tiger and bilingual book. They also took home other resources from WFYI and the Indianapolis Public Library to continue their tiger-tastic day of playful learning at home.
Special thanks to those who donated diapers for the Indiana Diaper Bank to distribute to families throughout the community. This day was made possible through WFYI's partnership with the Indianapolis Public Library and the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation with generous support from PNC Grow Up Great and Fred Rogers Productions.
