The head of the Indianapolis Housing Agency will leave his post. John Hall was hired in 2019 by Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett to help reform the department that had been struggling for years after audits uncovered financial mismanagement. The agency is in charge of administering federal aid for low income residents seeking housing in Indianapolis.
In a written statement Hogsett said Hall has helped residents during a critical time. “Despite the challenges and disruptions of the pandemic, John continued to guide one of our city’s most important public agencies,” he said.
The news release said Hall is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
Chief Deputy Executive Director Marcia Lewis was named interim IHA executive director.
