Juvenile shot and killed on Indy’s northwest side Saturday

A juvenile was shot and killed in the city’s northwest side Saturday, police say.

Officers responded to the 3100 block of Bonham Drive just before 1 a.m. on reports of a person shot, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. They found a juvenile male outside with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information has been released at this time, including the age of the juvenile.

IMPD asks anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Gary Toms at 317-327-3475 or gary.toms@indy.gov. Individuals can also make an anonymous tip by contacting the Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.

Indianapolis just ended another record-breaking year of homicides, with more than 270 people killed in 2021. Saturday’s incident marked the city’s eighth homicide in 2022.
