Indianapolis nonprofit Indy Reads, which works to increase literacy through a variety of programs, received a bomb threat Sunday.
The organization hosts a monthly, all-ages drag story hour. The emailed threat was directed at the event.
In a post on the Indy Reads Instagrampage, CEO Ruba Marshood said while they didn’t want to elevate the threat, the group thought it was important to share the information for public safety.
Police conducted an investigation and found no threat of danger at the Fountain Square location.
Employees received the threat in an email from an unidentified sender. In the Instagram post, Marshood wrote the organization would not be deterred.
“Indy Reads will always provide programs that align with our core value of inclusivity,” Marshood said.
Indy Reads plans to open as usual on Wednesday.
