Last week, Indianapolis area creatives learned short-term financial assistance is on the way. The Arts Council of Indianapolis and several community funders launched the COVID-19 Emergency Relief fund.
From WFYI's Arts and Culture desk, Jill Ditmire spoke with Arts Council Executive Director Julie Goodman about the fund and how it can help individuals and organizations facing financial losses after the sudden, and ongoing, cancellations of shows, classes, events, and performances.
Individuals can apply for COVID-19 Emergency Relief funding monthly until it is all given out. Anyone can donate and learn of other ways to support the local arts community by visiting indykeepcreating.org.
