World-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform in Indianapolis later this year.

On Thursday, Bocelli announced a new U.S. tour with 11 shows, including one with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on Dec. 7 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. This will be the first time Bocelli has performed in Indiana.

The concert will feature performances from Bocelli’s album “Believe”, along with a selection of arias, crossover hits, love songs and holiday music.

"The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is honored and thrilled to perform with Andrea Bocelli, one of the most celebrated artists of our time,” James Johnson, chief executive officer for the ISO said in a press release. “We are grateful for this opportunity to unite the incomparable talents of Mr. Bocelli and the ISO to bring this remarkable event to the central Indiana community."

Bocelli, who has been blind since age 12, has been performing for more than 20 years and has sold nearly 90 million records worldwide.

Tickets for the December show will go on sale at 10 a.m. April 11 at www.Gainbridgefieldhouse.com and at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Box Office.
