IPS, Boys & Girls Club to Offer Free Meals Over Fall Break

Indianapolis Public Schools.

10/9/18 This story has been updated to include new information.

Fall break can be difficult for families who rely on public schools to feed their children breakfast and lunch.  For the next several weeks, Indianapolis Public Schools and the Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis is offering a solution.

IPS will offer breakfast and lunch service Oct. 9-19. They’ll serve meals at 21 sites around the district, including Haughville Library, Martin Luther King Community Center and the Stratford Apartment Complex.

The Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis will serve free meals from five of their locations around the city. The LeGore Boys & Girls Club will serve meals Oct. 15-26th.

More than 80 percent of IPS students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Anyone under the age of 18 is able to eat for free, regardless of whether they attend an IPS school.

Low-cost meals will also be available for adults.

A list of locations and times are available on the IPS website.
