What's Brewing at WFYI: Local News
You're invited to join us for a special conversation about WFYI's approach to local news and the vital role trusted, nonprofit journalism plays in strengthening our community. This event, part of the What's Brewing at WFYI series, will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the WFYI Studios.
At a time when the local media landscape is changing rapidly, WFYI remains committed to fact-based, nonpartisan reporting that is accessible to everyone. At the conversation:
- WFYI’s News Director, Sarah Neal-Estes, will lead a conversation with our editors and news team about our approach, evolution over the years, how we prioritize and produce local journalism, and what is ahead.
- The conversation will include topics ranging from WFYI’s digital focus, collaborations and community engagement, how we cover the whole state, and election and coverage priorities for 2026.
- WFYI CEO Greg Petrowich will give an update on how the organization is navigating the first year following the loss of state and federal funding — along with the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Additionally, you can reach out to beveland@wfyi.org or 317-614-0475 if you have any questions.
We hope you’ll join us for an open, thoughtful dialogue about the future of local news and its impact on our shared civic life.
