IndyGo fare collection resumes Monday, May 4.

Spokesperson Lesley Gordon says new plastic shields allow for safer interactions between drivers and riders.

"Almost like a hinged door that will separate the operator from where the passenger gets on in that fare box, so there’s a cut out for the fare box," says Gordon.

Before this, IndyGo aimed to protect drivers with back door-only boarding, and it waived fare collection.

The Customer Service retail desk will reopen with modified hours. The CTC lobby will be limited to no more than 5 people when buying passes.

IndyGo says routes will continue to operate on Saturday schedules through the week. Its Sunday service will continue as normal.
