The Noblesville teacher injured in a shooting in his middle school classroom Friday has been released from the hospital.
Police say a Noblesville West Middle School student opened fire in a classroom Friday morning. Students in the room say science teacher Jason Seaman, 29, was shot three times as he tackled the alleged gunman.
Seaman was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. An IU Health representative confirmed Saturday afternoon that Seaman is no longer a patient at Methodist.

Seventh-grader Ethan Stonebraker says his class was taking a test when the unnamed male student started shooting. Stonebraker says Seaman likely prevented the shooter from harming more students.
“He took about four to six shots not aiming at anyone specifically like he was waving his hand around,” Stonebraker says. “Then we saw one girl fall to the ground and Mr. Seaman, our science teacher, immediately ran at him, swatted the gun out of his hand, knocked the gun to the ground.”
President Trump hailed Seaman as a hero in a tweet on Saturday afternoon.

Rep. Susan Brooks (R-Indiana 5th District) says she met Seaman after he was released from the hospital on Saturday morning.

Student Ella Whistler was also wounded in the shooting. According to a statement from her family on Friday night, she is in critical but stable condition at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
“We’d like to thank everyone across the country who prayed for our family today,” the statement says. “We’ve felt those prayers and appreciate each of them.”
