Children 18 and under can get free meals at locations across the city through the Indy Parks Meals Program, May 27 through July 25.

Most pools are expected to open the weekend of May 31 or early June, according to the Indy Park website.

In an Indianapolis park, northwest of downtown on Fall Creek, a large pile of dirt sits on the greenspace awaiting a makeover.

Indy Parks announced an incentive program for up to 400 of their summer jobs. Applicants may be eligible for the “Early Bird” sign-on bonus, the regular sign-on bonus or a referral bonus.

Long-awaited improvements at numerous Indy Parks are underway all across the city.

Community leaders broke ground Tuesday on a $3 million project to bring improvements to Tarkington Park, located west of the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

City and community leaders unveiled the new, covered basketball courts at Wes Montgomery Park. More than $2.7 million in federal relief money was invested in the new project.

Recent investments at Grassy Creek include a new splash pad, playground, trail expansions and wetland areas.

Indy Parks said offering public wi-fi will allow facilities to host more community events, expand program offerings and provide spaces for students that support learning.
