The road funding debate gripping the Statehouse this year has led to a strange dynamic, with Republican Gov. Mike Pence and Democrats pushing back against a House GOP plan to raise taxes.

Republican legislative leaders say Gov. Mike Pence was clear in his State of the State about the necessity of protecting religious freedom when it comes to the debate over LGBT rights. Democratic leaders say Pence failed to provide any leadership.

Even while Gov. Mike Pence was still hours away from delivering his fourth State of the State address, the campaign for his Democratic rival John Gregg was attacking.

Gregg actually outraised Pence in the first half of 2015, and finished the year with $3.7 million in contributions. But Pence raised about $3.5 million in just the last six months of the year.
