The search for a new leader at Newfields comes three months after former President and CEO Colette Burnette announced her unexpected departure.

Two more Board of Trustees members at Newfields have stepped down. The museum confirmed the departures on its governing board following a meeting this week.

Newfields released a statement Tuesday after the departure of former CEO Colette Pierce Burnette, almost two weeks after the organization announced her exit without providing more specific details about what led to the leadership change.

A protest outside Newfields Sunday afternoon swelled calls for transparency and criticism from the community, after the art museum announced earlier this month that its President and CEO, Dr. Colette Burnette, “will depart.”

Adrienne Sims is the latest to resign from the board of Newfields in the wake of the departure of CEO Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette.
