The Indiana Office of Career Connections and Talent released a data tool Wednesday aimed at helping community organizations and policymakers understand trends in their region. It combines information from state and national sources.

Several Indiana state departments worked together to create the 21st Century Talent Regions Data Display. It’s an online map of Indiana counties that compiles statistics ranging from unemployment numbers to youth poverty numbers into one visualization.

Secretary of Career Connections and Talent Blair Milo says the tool is aimed at leaders all the way from local nonprofits to state legislators. They can use the information to inform policies and create partnerships that will grow their workforce and economy.

“Having this data to start the conversation, or continue conversations, is really critical,” Milo says. “That’s what we’ve heard from our partners who are using it across the state as well.”
