In New Book, Margaret Stevenson Examines Impact Of Racism, Law On Children

The "school-to-prison pipeline," interactions between youth and police, and the juvenile justice system are some of the issues under renewed scrutiny as protests for racial justice continue. A new book co-edited by University of Evansville psychology associate professor Margaret Stevenson examines scientific studies on those issues and the legacy of racism for children. 

WFYI’s Jill Ditmire spoke to Stevenson about the challenges children of color face from public policies.

Jill Ditmire was no stranger to the broadcast world. Her face and voice were a daily part of the lives of viewers and listeners in the Midwest for 25 years. She produced her own television series on Indiana Public Television for eight years called “The Good Life” which showcased independent chefs, restaurants and local wineries.
