2026 General Election

A new Indiana law that lets school board candidates run under a political party is now threatening to knock the only two candidates for an Indianapolis Public Schools board seat off the November ballot.

Democratic candidates will appear on the November ballot for nearly all Indiana legislative seats up for election this fall — while Republicans are sitting out more than 20 races.

The previously uncontested race now has two candidates in the general election.
