Pike Township School Board President Terry A. Webster Sr., center, lost his bid for reelection in the November 2026 election. Board members Alonzo Anderson, right, and Wayne L. Moore retained their seats.

More than 50 candidates were on the ballot for 31 seats on 10 school boards in Marion County.

In Pike Township, Sherie Scott, a longtime educator who is facing a felony domestic battery charge, won a seat on school board Tuesday. Board President Terry Webster Sr. finished fourth and lost his seat.

Scott received 26.5% of the votes, according to unofficial results. Incumbents Alonzo Anderson and Wayne Moore were reelected.

Scott was charged in October with a Level 6 felony and a misdemeanor. The case is pending. Indiana law bars anyone convicted of a felony from assuming local office.

The change in leadership comes as some in the Pike community grow frustrated over several issues, including the board making vague accusations about a toxic climate created by district administrators. Yet, board members have declined to provide details to the public and media.

The 2026 midterm election was the first time that school board candidates in Indiana can opt to include a party affiliation on the ballot.

Here are unofficial results, according to the Marion County Election Board:
