The U.S. House Agriculture Committee advanced a sweeping farm bill early this month, attempting to revive Congress’ stalled effort to rewrite the nation’s agriculture law the same way it’s been done for decades.

The deadline for states to decide whether to participate in SUNBucks — a federal program that helps provide funds during the summer — is approaching, after Indiana opted out of the program last year.

Over half of Central Indiana residents said they experienced some level of food insecurity last year, and 37% said they were missing meals because they didn't have enough food.
