Keystone RV has announced that it plans to close two plants in Goshen effective Sept. 30, eliminating 334 jobs.

A Goshen man was arrested Wednesday on federal charges in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The Elkhart-Goshen metropolitan area has the lowest unemployment rate in the country, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Other areas in Indiana also have a historically very low level of jobless workers.

Four public drinking water wells in Goshen are contaminated with 1,2-dichloroethane -- an industrial chemical used to make things like PVC pipes and remove grease. It's also a byproduct of chemicals used in dry cleaning.

Goshen Hospital leaders said in a letter to patients that between April 1 and Sept. 10 a sterilization technician failed to complete one crucial step in the sterilizing process of surgical equipment.

Goshen is voicing a commitment to reducing carbon emissions, increasing energy efficiency and boosting the use of renewable energy.

Keystone RV, a subsidiary of Thor Industries Inc., plans to spend $8.6 million on the plants in Goshen, 25 miles east of South Bend.

The land donation follows the farmer's 2014 gift of $2 million in stock to the 1,000-student liberal-arts college.
