Indianapolis is one of just a handful of locations across the country – and the world – that will show a unique 70-millimeter version of the film “Oppenheimer” starting this week.

Bicycle enthusiasts and history fans can view a new exhibit about the life of the first Black world champion bicyclist and Indy native Marshall "Major” Taylor at the Indiana State Museum.

The life of world champion cyclist and Indy native Marshall “Major” Taylor is on exhibit at the Indiana State Museum. Visitors can see artifacts from Taylor’s life and how Indiana viewed the sport of professional cycling in the late 1800s.

The Indiana State Museum will feature six murals as part of an exhibition by Indianapolis artists. RESPONSE: Images and Sounds of a Movement are expressions its creators hope will spur conversation about how and why last years social and racial inequity protests occurred in downtown Indianapolis.

Communities across the Midwest have been devastated by the opioid epidemic. But there's still a lot of misunderstanding about how opioids affect our bodies. A new Indiana State Museum exhibit is tackling this issue.

The 7,000-square-foot exhibition will contain multimedia displays, hands-on installations and interactive artwork to provide information on opioid addiction and treatment.

The project, now in its 10th year, highlights the contributions of Hoosiers to the military history of Indiana and the United States by showcasing the images in a large photo display and Facebook gallery.

Only 15 theaters in the country have the projector to run film, and the IMAX Theater at the Indiana State Museum is one of them.

Wednesday, Dec. 7 is the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The attack precipitated the entrance of the United States into World War II. More than 340,000 Hoosiers served during the war, and a few of them gathered at the Indiana State Museum Wednesday for a panel discussion.

Among the items on display are Ameila Earhart's jacket, jazz legend David Baker's trombone, and a 1.3 billion year old meteorite.
