Greenwood Park Mall, the day after reported gunshots reminded residents of the fatal shooting in July.

There were reports of gun shots fired Friday night at Greenwood Park Mall, five months after a gunman killed three people and injured 2 others at that location. No injuries were reported.

Greenwood police responded to a call of shots fired outside of the Dicks Sporting Goods, according to the police department’s Facebook page. They have now reported the area is safe.

The investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Non-Emergency Johnson County Dispatch number, at 317-346-6336.

Law enforcement is still unable to determine the motive behind the mass shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall in July.

At a press conference Wednesday, members of the Greenwood Police Department and the FBI said they don’t know why the gunman chose to carry out the incident, but they have learned more about his past and interests.
