Over the next two years, contingent on congressional funding, WFYI will collaborate with local partners including Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center and the Indianapolis Public Library to create a “Learning Neighborhood” that fosters a community-wide culture of learning at home, in the neighborhood, and within local systems and spaces.

Former WFYI President and CEO Lloyd Wright will be inducted into the Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations (IPBS) Hall of Fame on August 2, 2023, as one of four hall of fame inductees. IPBS is a collective of NPR and PBS stations throughout Indiana that serve as a trusted and free resource for news, educational programming and entertainment.

WFYI Public Media announced that, following a nationwide search, Erin Earnest has been selected as chief content officer of the station. Earnest previously worked at Butler University and Live Nation, and joins WFYI, Central Indiana’s NPR and PBS member station, in a period of expanded, multiplatform audiences.
