7th Congressional District

Three candidates are running for U.S. House 7th District: incumbent Democrat André Carson, Republican candidate Angela Grabovsky and Libertarian candidate Gavin Maple.

The Indiana Citizens Redistricting Commission will collect testimony on the state's current voting districts, and what Hoosiers would like to see in new districts.

WFYI Government and Policy Reporter, Jill Sheridan spoke to both 7th district candidates -- by phone to observe social distancing -- about issues including health care, pandemic response, racial justice and economic recovery.

André Carson is the incumbent Democratic candidate for the Seventh Congressional District of Indiana. He faces Republican Wayne (Gunny) Harmon in the election next month.

Carson, who's himself a Muslim, appeared on ABC following a week that saw acts vandalism - and even arson - levied against mosques across the country. And a new New York Times poll shows anti-Islamic sentiment in the United States at its highest level since just after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
