About the Event

American Public Television and WFYI community engagement are offering a summer three-day train-the-trainer workshop for upper elementary, secondary and pre-service teachers. The workshop will be held June 3 through 5 at WFYI in Indianapolis in collaboration with a number of local museums and historical sites.

Educators will use episodes from the Emmy Award-winning documentary series "The Future of America’s Past" to explore how they can develop learning resources. Our aim is to increase student media literacy and critical thinking skills through digital humanities projects that feature primary source/archival materials. Workshops will be led by Annie Evans from New American History.

Deadline to register is May 22nd.

All participants will receive a $125 stipend for participating in the three-day workshop and for completing a set of inquiry-based learning resources. These resources will be shared freely across the local WFYI viewing area, and through the PBS Learning Media and New American History networks. Educators will receive 21 hours of Professional Growth Points upon completion.
