Indianapolis-based Anthem said Wednesday that it would offer two years of free credit monitoring to customers whose privacy could have been breached by hackers.
The company disclosed last week that the personal data of as many as 80 million customers -- including their Social Security numbers, names and email addresses -- could have been compromised in the attack.
Starting Friday, the company said, current and former customers can begin enrolling in credit monitoring. Anthem is also offering identity repair assistance, identity theft insurance and child identity protection.
