Marco Rubio Confirms He's Running For President

In a conference call today, Republican Senator Marco Rubio told his top donors that he is running for president. Rubio is expected to formally announce his candidacy tonight in Miami, Florida. That follows the long-awaited candidacy announcement yesterday from former First Lady, New York Senator and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

NPR’s Ron Elving talks with Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson about how the 2016 presidential field is shaping up, as well as other political news.

Congress is back in session this week after a two week break, and Loretta Lynch, who was nominated by President Obama in November for U.S. Attorney General, still hasn’t been confirmed by Congress. Elving also discusses Sen. Bob Corker’s attempt to get Congress to weigh in on the nuclear deal with Iran.
