Director of External Engagement and Special Initiatives Marianne Sheline said visitors to the Indiana State Fair can get a sneak peek at the exhibit aboard the Indiana History Train.

“When you come in you're going to get a little bit of a background of the game itself, how and when it was invented and then we do a countdown of 15 basketball historical moments,” Sheline said.

The exhibit also highlights “Chuck” Taylor, and his contribution to the game of basketball and the shoe he made famous — the Converse All Star.

The Indiana History Train is located north of the Family Fun Park and east of Pioneer Village.

“When you are exploring over there, you’ll eventually see three bright red train cars and then they can come on through, walk through. The train does not move,” Sheline said.

The Indiana History Train is included with admission to the fair.

“Chuck Taylor All Star” opens March 2023 at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center and will run through August 2024.
